Hello, I’m

Herbalism found me before I went looking
WHERE IT STARTED
I was sixteen when a severe digestive illness left me unable to swallow for nearly a month. Doctors wanted to intervene surgically. Something in me needed to understand what was happening in my body before agreeing to that — and in that search I found slippery elm, and real healing followed. I never looked back.
That experience planted something deep. Not just a love of herbs, but a way of asking questions. What is the body doing here? What system is involved? What does this tissue actually need? Those questions have shaped every health decision I have made since — and eventually, they became the foundation of everything I teach.
Since that first experience I have used the same body-based approach to heal a hiatal hernia without mesh surgery, navigate an endometriosis diagnosis that once had me bedridden, and completely transform my menstrual health through lifestyle and herbal support. Today my cycles are four to five days, minimal cramping, and I know how to respond when something feels off.
I built Body-Based Herbalism because I kept meeting people who were curious, motivated, and smart — but stuck in the same frustration I had felt. Herb lists that didn't explain why. Protocols that worked for someone else but not for them. No framework for reading what their own body was doing. That's what I wanted to change.
The body doesn’t create symptoms randomly. It signals. And when you understand what it’s signaling, the path forward becomes clear.
Severe dysphagia and GI inflammation. Doctors suggested surgery. I found slippery elm instead — and experienced real healing through understanding the tissue involved. This was the moment that changed everything. It wasn't just that the herb worked. It was that understanding the body first made the herb make sense.
AGE 16 — THE BEGINNING
Eleven years after my original digestive illness, a hiatal hernia was identified as the root cause. Doctors offered mesh surgery. I declined and instead used manual massage, sleep positioning, and herbal support to heal it. This is where "body-based herbalism" crystallized — not as a philosophy, but as a lived experience of what becomes possible when you understand the mechanism.
2020 — THE HIATAL HERNIA
A cyst rupture at work sent me to the ER. The diagnosis was endometriosis. Doctors recommended a hysterectomy. I researched, declined, had excision surgery with a specialist, and then implemented a deep lifestyle and herbal overhaul based on understanding the systems involved. Today my symptoms are nearly nonexistent — not because of a protocol, but because of understanding what was driving them.
2023 — ENDOMETRIOSIS
I built this business to teach the framework that changed my health. Not protocols. Not herb lists. An understanding of how the body works, what symptoms are actually signaling, and how to use herbs in a way that fits that picture. I homeschool my children, I forage seasonally in Utah, and I believe herbalism is most powerful when it is personal — built around the specific body in front of you, not a generic recommendation.
NOW — BODY-BASED HERBALISM
The body-based approach
HOW I TEACH
01
Physiology first
Understand the body system before reaching for an herb. The herb only makes sense once you know what the system needs.
02
Symptoms are signals
Nothing the body does is random. Symptoms are communication from systems that need support — they are not problems to suppress.
03
Personalized over universal
The right support depends entirely on what the specific body is doing. The same dose can be too much for one person and not enough for another.
“Supporting the system, not just the symptoms.
Your body is always signaling — this is how you learn to listen.
